Gilroy Inn

On this Valentine's Day, it started with a grocery pickup at Target with a Starbucks order. 🧸🧸🧸🧸🧸
Then, it was a short drive south on 101 to Gilroy, where we checked into the Gilroy Inn. 🧸🧸
Check-in was fine, the proprietors were nice. But the motel has much need for improvement.

Basic bathroom.

Towels, toiletries.

Open storage with hangers.

A mini fridge and microwave, which are always welcome.

Mr Duffy and I being lovey-dovey on Valentine's Day.

A huge king bed for us to jump on.

A reading chair, if needed.

We started the road trip with an iced caramel macchiato while picking up hotel snacks at Target. It was a rainy drive, which is usually a welcome experience. We arrived at our destination city of Gilroy, and checked in to our motel, the Gilroy Inn. It is a very convenient location right off of Highway 101. It was a small room, but needs a bit (a lot) of updating. While the room had an included mini refrigerator and microwave, it could have used more overhead lighting. The bathroom was basic and standard. Noise could be heard from 101, but that is to be expected. It wasn't a nuisance over night, but was noticeable from around 6 am until 10 pm. There were enough surfaces to hold belongings such as tech and food. There is a Starbucks directly across the street, however the short walk requires battling impatient and hurried drivers. The television situation was undesirable as there was no display of the channels, nor good way to search the offerings. The bathroom doorknob was broken so it couldn't lock. There was no security latch on the door, and there were sensors that would time us out. So, if we were just sitting in bed, whether reading or watching television, the light would go out, sending one of us to switch it on again. I would give it just one teddy, but that is reserved for much worse than this. So, two teds.
