A Little Parade and A Lot of Food

As I do every year, I started the day by watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade. There wasn't a Build-A-Bear float this year, though. I hope it returns next year.

It is Santa Claus! That means the parade is over and it is time to start snacking.

I ate stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole.

Someone dug in to the pie!

We ate delicious fresh cranberry sauce on biscuits. It was so good. Yummy!

The baby loved it, too.

I wanted another plate of them, they were so good.

I always make a point of making a whole lot of food for Thanksgiving because it is my favorite food. I wouldn't eat it throughout the year, because it's not just about the food. I also like eating the leftovers while doing online shopping for Black Friday, and for enjoying all the Christmas movies that start showing on TV. Usually, my food is a lot more colorful than this!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you, and may I be among the first to wish you Merry Christmas!

Apps and 'Serts

The baby was all ready for his first Thanksgiving. But I don't know if he really understood why it was odd to dress up as a turkey, and eat a turkey leg while doing so.

My turkey friends visited, there for all of the non-poultry treats.

Apps and 'Serts means "appetizers and desserts" which is what we had before - and after - the big dinner. I made a charcuterie tray to serve with champagne. We had cheese, crackers, salami, prosciutto, and dried fruit.

And of course we had pie. It was pumpkin pie, and by the time it was served, I was too "stuffed" to eat any!

Doesn't it look delicious? At least my friends left enough that I was eventually able to eat some.

That silly baby!

So here we had a cookie tray. There were gingerbread Oreo cookies, stroopwafels, pirouettes, and another cream filled cookie.

There were also finger sandwiches, pickles, olives, and mushrooms.
Each place setting had a cartoon turkey plate and napkin, along with a chocolate turkey and a pumpkin spice lollipop in a pop holder. Very festive and fancy!

Caw-ca-caw-ca-caw-ca-caw! Sorry, baby, that isn't a turkey. It isn't even a chicken!

If I guard these deviled eggs, do you think I will get to eat them all myself?

So much food and this wasn't even the main dinner. Oh, I am going to have to get out of my jeans and into my stretchy pants.

Election Day

I sent in my vote early, so all I did today was watch the returns. I was tuned in to the news, and anxiously awaited the results. But they could not be called today. If I had fingernails, I would have chewed them all off.

If you have not yet, GO VOTE!!!
