Play Time

Today, Mr Duffy and I celebrated Little Red Wagon Day.

We had some trouble getting started. Don't worry, no teddies were injured during this photo shoot.

The tumble wasn't so bad, we got up, checked for injuries, and went about playing when we knew we were okay.

This wagon isn't big enough for us both to ride in at the same time, so we took turns pulling each other.

The weather was so nice today, I just wanted to stretch out and get some sunshine.

Mr Duffy had fun being pulled around.

Now, we were both able to squeeze, but the problem was, we didn't have a friend to pull us! Haha!

Mr Duffy and I get along so well. We do love our play days.

I got this Radio Flyer little red wagon for Christmas in 2019, but with all that happened last year, I wasn't able to use it much. But now we get to do more stuff. I would love to take it to the beach to haul my beach gear and my snacks.

Now all I can think about is going to the beach. I wonder if I can sneak in a beach day next week. Stay tuned, if I do go to the beach, you will read about it here!

National Crayon Day

Coloring is a relaxing activity. Colored pencils are always popular, and people also really like using gel pens to make their artwork shine. But crayons are classic.

You can make your own art on paper or other materials, or you can buy some coloring books if you don't want to draw your own pieces.

Crayola is the most popular brand of crayons. They have so many different types of collections. Some include glitter, neon, skin tones, metallic, and pearl.

I like my crayon caddy. There are a lot of crayon organizers out there, and some have as many as one hundred different colors in each set. That is awesome!

This is a great organizer because not only does it keep my crayons in tact, but it also has a crayon sharpener in the caddy. Convenient!

This set says it is ultimate and it has 154 unique colors. You are sure to find any color you might need.

Make some time to color, it is good for your mind.

Eat Your Leafy Greens

It’s National Spinach Day! It’s a healthful, leafy green that can be prepared many ways. Stuffed in pasta as ravioli is one of my favorites.

I’m also a fan of quiche. Any time you add cheese and a starch, I’m there for it. Good eats!

I do enjoy it raw on its own, as a base of a salad, sautéed, steamed, added to many dishes. It’s a superfood and very tasty, too. Eat some leafy greens today!

Pacific Grove Day 2

After a good sleep-in, we got up and were ready for lunch. We had a lot of options, and since I had a Mexican food craving, we decided on El Torito. We approached the restaurant to see if they had outdoor dining as an option, and if there were a lot of people. They did offer outdoor seating. Most people wanted to sit inside, so we were lucky to be only one of two occupied tables outside.

This bull greeted us outside, and our table was right next to him.

We had this view from our table. Monterey Bay.

Wildlife

And another bird.

They have a good menu with much variety. I couldn't decide if I wanted an enchilada, or a taco, or chili relleno. So I picked the macho combo plate and was able to get all of them.

One thing I have desperately missed from eating in Mexican restaurants, was fresh chips and salsa. It was amazingly delicious.

Simple things like this, we have taken for granted. With each crunch of the chip, and the light and cold salsa, it was such a great feeling. I missed it.

The baby was curious about these chips.

This is what he had for lunch.

Mr Duffy and I shared this platter. Wow, the food was amazing. So tasty. The tamale was delicious, all the food was satisfying. We were stuffed! So we packed up our leftovers for later.

We paused to take in the view before leaving the restaurant.

Oh, to be right near the beach.

I miss the water when I am not near it.

If these whales could talk... they'd tell the tale of a photographer falling into a hidden hole who then suffered a terrible fracture.

We drove right down the road and found a place we could sit to take in the scenery. This was Asilomar Beach, and it was very windy.

If we had better footing, we might have gone down to look for tidepools.

It was so serene and refreshing to have a seat to just look at the water.

I needed this. And now my wanderlust has returned and it is strong. I am already planning two vacations.

After our time at the beach, we got in the car and went for a drive. After exploring by car, we went back to our hotel for more relaxing and just loving our time away. The next day, we would be returning home.

I felt safe traveling, we stayed away from others, kept our masks on, and avoided crowds.

If you have a chance to get out in a natural setting, you should do it. If it is a group of trees, or a body of water, go enjoy life.
