Dance Your Ears Off

New in Tomorrowland, there is a nightly dance party where several characters dance with guests. Mickey, Goofy, Max, Pearla, and Pluto were some of the characters showing their moves. I had a great time dancing along. Song is "Cupid Shuffle" by Cupid.

Disneyland is celebrating the 90th birthday/anniversary of Mickey and Minnie. They have so much for the event - special foods, a fireworks show, merchandise, and some of the characters are also dressed in party outfits.

I can't wait to go back for more Disney dancing!

Second Day of Disney Magic

Today we started out in California Adventure. Our first thing we had to do was to get our Starbucks from Fiddler, Fifer, and Practical Cafe. I was a bit peckish so I also grabbed a sandwich.

We were in DCA briefly before going to Disneyland. We got on the Railroad and rode it around the park. I always enjoy going through Primeval World, and it is very relaxing when it drives along the Rivers of America.

We also went on Pirates of the Caribbean and did some shopping. After that, we went back into California Adventure. We went on the Incredicoaster which was a lot of fun. It used to be California Screamin' but now has an Incredibles theme.

Since we were at Pixar Pier, we decided to get dinner at the Pacific Wharf. I got this delicious beef veggie dish from the Chinese walk-up. The sauce was tasty. I also got some pot stickers and edamame. I do need lots of food when I am in Disneyland, I do so much walking that it is important to fuel up!

We wanted to go back into Disneyland, so we crossed the way back. We went on Casey Jr Circus Train. I love sitting in any part of the train. This time I was in an outside seat.

I also went on Mr Toad's Wild Ride. I got a kiss from this Toad while waiting in line.

Then it was back to Star Tours. I was determined to get to Naboo and Kashyyyk. After three rides in one day, we made it! Naboo and Hoth are my favorites to visit. Also Kashyyyk!

It was time for more snacks so we stopped by the Corn Dog truck on Main Street.

We were having so much fun and we didn't want to leave. So we went to Tomorrowland and heard some fun music playing. We wanted to check it out. We saw some characters dancing, so we joined in! Everything is decorated for the 90th birthday celebration of Mickey and Minnie. I got this delicious smores parfait at the walk up window and worked it off doing lots of dancing.

This last-minute weekend getaway was so much fun. I would love to get back as soon as possible. I know there is a food and wine festival coming up, and Captain Marvel is going to be there to meet guests. Time to start planning!

Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, and a 90 Year Celebration

Where did we find all of these great things to celebrate? Disneyland, of course!
Mr Duffy joined me for an impromptu weekend at our favorite place on Earth. The place where we met!

We got up as early as we could and drove to the resort. We got on the Mickey and Friends tram and headed to Disneyland.

As soon as we entered, the Disneyland Band greeted us. They played a variety of Disney songs including the Star Wars theme (which isn't originally Disney, but people are now associating the two) and Let It Go. It was a moving performance. I may have gotten a bit teary-eyed.

Our first stop after listening to the music is always the most important: The Market House for our Starbucks fix! They had a special Valentine's cookie. I didn't know if the bow was edible, but it was white chocolate. I guess some people would call that edible, but I won't.

I also have a tradition of getting a "Mickey" cookie so I got one of those, too.

Mr Duffy and I shared our iced latte and cookies. Then we were ready to ride!

We started at Star Tours, and then went on the Matterhorn. This was closed the last three times we were there, so we went on it because we had missed it.

We did more of our usual stuff such as Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, but I didn't get pics then. I might have to fire my photographer. We did get on Peter Pan's Flight (above) and it was my first time seeing the updates.

The Fantasyland Band was playing right near the Snow White ride.

This was a surprisingly hot day for being January. So I felt a ride on Splash Mountain was a good idea.

This is one of my favorite rides because of the water, the big hill, the singing bears, and the giant avocado.

We were very near the Hungry Bear Restaurant and ready for lunch.

We tasted the special cinnamon funnel cake. It was a bit spicy but, hey, cinnamon.

They also had this very special watermelon lemonade that had a foamy top with sprinkles. It was refreshing on such a warm day.

After our very heavy meal, we walked to California Adventure. We went on the Toy Story ride. Then we stopped by the Lunar New Year area to sample some of their tasty foods.

We got these delicious mango pastries.

These garlic noodles were SO GOOD. And the veggie egg roll was also amazing. If I had more time, I would have tried one of everything.

We spent a bit more time in the park, then wanted to get some dinner in Downtown Disney. We settled on Naples because we like pasta.

I got the garlic pasta with clams. It was SO GOOD. The waitress offered me a baby's high chair and I thought that was so funny.

After dinner, I wanted to stop in Marceline's candy shop for some treats.

 Look at those amazing apples!

I picked up a cookie, a cake pop, and some English toffee. YUMMY! We headed back home so we could get up early and do this again the next day.

Women's March

I attended the San Jose Women's March to show support for my fellow ladies.
Some vendors were giving out swag. I got some cool buttons.

At the rally after the march, the organization had trash and recycle bins that were decorated by some local participants. This one was decorated with a lot of images. One side had a list of the newly elected female politicians. The top was decorated with snippets of lyrics of female empowerment songs.

Here is a long line of marchers, chanting and carrying signs. It was a very inspiring and important day.

Last Day in New York

On my last morning, I had one more rainbow bagel with cream cheese and lox. I was sure going to miss these magical bagels that showed up at my table every morning.

I got to the airport early because I didn't know what to expect with current air travel. I tried a Dunkin Donuts iced latte for the first time. It was just an ordinary latte, nothing to miss while I am away.

I waited at the gate, waiting to board. Our plane was late and we ended up taking off eighty-five minutes after our original takeoff time.

I was starting to get bored just sitting around JFK Airport.

Finally I boarded the plane and started to get settled in for my five plus hour flight.

Bye, New York. I will miss you dearly.

For dinner, I ordered the fancy cheese platter with a bottle of Prosecco. I watched a couple of movies and thought about where my future travels would take me.

I arrived back home, already missing everything about New York. I would love to go in summer and visit Coney Island, the beaches, and do some swimming. But I also loved how there was never any wait for anything, and there were no crowds. But there was no snow which was a bummer. I guess I will be planning a trip to a ski resort soon!
