Pinot Noir!

Is anyone else hearing Titus singing his Pinot Noir song? Look it up. Funny stuff!

It is National Pinot Noir Day. I picked up a classic bottle, as well as one of sparkling. The bottle is beautiful!

If you will be celebrating today, it's best to stay home and watch a nice movie while sipping a glass. And have some food with it. Pair it with some cheese!

National Perler Day

One of my favorite pastimes is working with Perler Beads.

I like to use them like other beads in jewelry making, and I also make fused projects as well.

I like to buy the big buckets that have thousands of beads, but they come mixed. I take time to sort them all, so when it is time to work on a project, I can just grab a color and go.

I have tried a few different storage and sorting systems. Unfortunately, things like standard floss boxes, while they do have individual compartments to sort by color, they don't have individual lids. This means that if you bump the container, all of the colors will spill out and mix up again. I use a photo sorter and this has worked well for me.

Perler beads, which are used to make designs on a peg board and then ironed to fuse them into images or words, were created to help the elderly with therapeutic needs. Over time, they became popular with children and are now enjoyed by all ages.

I made some food creations to celebrate National Perler Day.

Make your own name!

Here is what the giant buckets look like, with as many as twenty or thirty different colors to sort. That can be a very relaxing, grounding activity.

This is what happiness feels like. Look at all those colors and that organization!

What would you like to make?
