We were ready for dinner, but due to a power outage, we couldn't eat at the railroad restaurant at our hotel. We looked up places, but there were not a lot of options in this town.
We found a place called Penny's Diner. 🧸 It was in a convenient location, but that is the best thing I can say about it.
They have an extensive menu, but were out of some of their offerings.
I ordered the chicken fried steak. This was my first time trying this dish, and I was disappointed. The vegetables were undercooked, the potatoes were bland, and I am sure the "steak" was some kind of mystery meat.
The service was not spectacular and the atmosphere was underwhelming. Day old leftovers microwaved would have been better.
