Apple Farm Inn

Our second and final hotel was the Apple Farm, which is right across the street from our previous hotel.

We were ready for dinner and I ordered some clam chowder.

Mr Duffy and I opened a bottle of wine and made a toast.

The room had just a queen size bed, which is just okay. I much prefer a bed where I won't tumble off in the middle of the night.

There was a working desk with a nice mirror, and purple walls.

Our room had our own patio with a private hot tub.

Standard bathroom.

The nights were cold and this fireplace kept our fur dry.

We had a mini fridge and coffee pot, and because we were in the wine country of the central coast, they provided wine glasses.

And because of the hot tub, they provided bath robes for us.

It's a cozy and quaint room, also on a quiet street.

California Welcome Center

While on our first full day in the area, we stopped in the California Welcome Center, and then stopped in the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Company to get some candies.

I love these welcome centers. I am slowly building up a library of travel information for California. These brochures are great because not only do they have information about things to do in the area and sometimes have maps, but they also include trivia about the local places.

I stop in every one whenever there is one on my travels.

Los Osos and Morro Bay

The next day we checked out of our hotel, but had some time to burn before we could check into our next place. We visited a nice beach in Morro Bay.

This was a pretty flower I saw on the sand.

Ah, the beach, one of my favorite places to be.

Morro Rock
We still had time, so we visited the Elfin Forest. Their trees are tiny, as if fairies live there.

Tiny trees!

We had lunch at Martin's Restaurant in Los Osos. The food was delicious!

I had chili relleno with a cheese enchilada, and it came with rice and beans. And everything was smothered in cheese. So good!

We got chips and salsa served at our table.

This was what we saw outside our hotel window.

Before we left for Los Osos and Morro Bay, we had started out by ordering Starbucks. We enjoyed the breakfast on our private balcony. That was very enjoyable. And it was quiet outside which gave us a good start to our day.

San Luis Obispo Trip

The central coast was calling for a visit. I booked a vacation in San Luis Obispo, then Mr Duffy and I were off.

We stayed in La Cuesta Inn for our first night. We originally planned on only one night and then we would go to another city, but decided our best option was just to stay in SLO.

The bathroom was big with nice sinks and pleasant smelling toiletries. It didn't have a tub, but did have a big shower

We also had our own private balcony with a table and chairs.

There was the standard coffee maker with coffees and associated packets.

There was also a big desk with lots of outlets. If I wanted to do some work, this is where I would have set up.

We had a giant bed. Comfy enough, but the pillows were too fluffy.

The room had a comfy chair.

Also always helpful was a microwave and mini fridge.

Standard TV.

Clean, comfy room located on a quiet street. And just about a quick mile out of downtown. It is a nice place to stay.
