A Happy Halloween

There were presents under the Halloween tree. Who are those peanut butter cup bats for?

My crumb cake and timeless friends dressed up as a spider vampire and spider witch.

And that was a popular theme. Mickey was a purple vampire and Minnie was a purple witch.

There was a good turnout of Halloween buddies this year.

I dressed the baby up as a jack-o-lantern. It seemed to make him happy. Elpheba didn't dress up, for her it was just come-as-you-are.

Mr Duffy was David Pumpkins, made popular on Saturday Night Live as played by Tom Hanks.

I got a bag full of treats.

Jack and Sally were there. They usually stay through Christmas.

Zero flew into my tree and got stuck there.

Defying gravity.

Now I thought this was clever and amusing. Santa was a jack, and Jack was a Santa. They win for best couple costume.

Why are Halloween cats purple?

These are my new friends and they are so cuddly. Frankenstein's monster and his bride. We had a lot of fun together.

This is Joe Spiden. Yes, named after the future President. I am very sure of myself.

Here is purple again. Lots of purple witches.

Another Halloween tree, all decorated with lovies and trinkets.

And here is the tree all lit up.

Group photo! Here we also have pirates, a skeleton, and a cool cat.

Even with things much different this year, we still had a super fun time. We had lots of festive decorations, good food and desserts, and all the candy we wanted. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.

National Pumpkin Day

To celebrate this day, you can dress like a pumpkin, wear a pumpkin shirt, or just be a pumpkin.

You can have real ones that you carve or eat, or ones that are decorations.

I like these pumpkin mellowcreme candies. They taste like candy corn, but for some reason people love these a lot more.

New to me this year was pumpkin spice hot chocolate. Good stuff!

How do you like to celebrate this day?

Party Time!

I dressed as the grim reaper, but I like to say I was the cute reaper. A commenter said she would not like to have me in her room when she was sleeping. I didn't invite her to sleep here, so there is no problem. Would you be too scared to sleep with me in your room?

I always have a Halloween tree, and this year was no different.

Because of circumstances this year, we did not have our annual party. So it was just for my humans who live with me. That meant we didn't have to share our chex popcorn mix with anyone. This is good stuff, and it is usually quickly devoured.

A new snack I made this year was pigs in a blanket, only they were vegan. I used veggie dogs and put them in biscuit dough. And they tasted great dipped in yellow mustard.

I also made my tasty deviled eggs. Of course we would have devil food at a Halloween party!

And to balance out all of the candy of this holiday, we had hummus and veggies. I would actually rather eat the veggies than too much of the candy.

I hope you can attend a party soon!

Visiting the Pumpkin Farm

I made my annual trip to the pumpkin farm. This year, it was to Spina Farms, as my favorite one has closed.

They have pumpkins and gourds of all sizes, available for sale. I like to pick up smaller ones to use for decorating.

The baby and I were playing in this cute haunted house. Do you see us in the windows?

These pumpkins are a grayish green. I wonder how they taste.

The white ones are good for painting.

I think these ones would be good for a soup. I don't know why.

These pumpkins were smooth and looked like they were made of wax.

Hi, Mr Ghostie.

Now we are getting into the classic colors, but some of them look very squished.

Is that Frank monster trying to eat the pumpkins? They are the red warty things.

They have a pumpkin pyramid, though less grand than the one from the other farm. Maybe they will grow it as the years go on.

These look like a combination of pumpkins plus zucchini. I would eat them, I like both of those things.

RIP = Really Interesting Pumpkins?

Run away before that tree eats you! Get out of there!

Catching the last bit of good sunshine before the short days of winter take over.

I would like something like this for my front yard.

Marigolds are pretty flowers, and they are a natural insect repellent. I think that is why they plant them near the squash, it keeps the pumpkin eaters away.

There are the red warty things again!

These pumpkins are bigger than we are!

Careful, baby, that jack looks sketchy.

This is where we picked out which pumpkins would make good soup, so we could buy them and bring them home.

I wonder how many of my teddy friends I could sit up here with.
