Go Giants

Tonight I went to the Giants game vs the Arizona Diamondbacks. This was my very first ride on CalTrain.

I sat on the upper level of the train and liked the sites. Each station seemed to have a different theme, different eras.

Inside the ball park is a cable car where you can view the field from one side or the bay from one side.

The stadium seemed full... partly because people were there to see Bonds working in his home run record, and partly because it was a clear, nice day.

I visited the Build-A-Bear booth at the park. In the Coca-Cola Fan Lot, where I slid down the giant Coke bottle slides is a tiny Build-A-Bear Workshop that sells all SF Giants things for bears. Jerseys, uniforms, shirts, jackets, pajamas... I also made 4 new friends there. Now if only they would put a store in the San Jose Arena for the Sharks...

My Day at the Aquarium

I love visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. My favorite exhibit is the otter one. I love all ocean animals, but marine mammals are my favorite.

Here I am in front of a tank with some small fish. As a California Grizzly, I naturally crave fish, especially salmon. But my keeper has taught me to love tofu so I have learned that "Fish are friends, not food."

Behind me is the new river otter exhibit. They are smaller than sea otters and just as cute. They were playing with and eating ice cubes.

One of the outside decks... I was able to see frolicking otters and heard seals barking. The sea life around here is great. The Aquarium staff teach and practice conservation. This was a beautiful day. Many times I have been here the weather has been overcast and drizzly.

In the Splash Zone which is an area designated for children are tanks that are lower and smaller. In here is some kind of creepy-crawly stick-like creature.

Taking another break, this time inside on one of the giant rocks.

Monterey sure was fun. I'm glad I bought a membership, now I can return when I want... just not when I'm craving fish!

Off to Monterey

This weekend I will be in the Monterey area. I enjoy playing at the Dennis the Menace playground. They have giant slides built into the side of a rock hill, and big swings that grownups can ride. There are also paddle boats on a nice lake and the area is littered with geese. It's a great place for kids and bears.
I need to get some rest so I can have energy to walk around the aquarium. Good night!

Yo Ho, Yo Ho...

Today I saw Pirates of the Caribbean. It was a fabulous movie, as the previous two. There were some awesome scenes. I don't do spoilers but I think I can say the scene where they figured out "up is down" was great! I enjoyed some movie snacks like popcorn and soda and really enjoyed myself.
