Folsom Zoo

The Folsom Zoo Sanctuary is a place where animals go that can't be released into the wild. These are usually animals that have been hit by a car, or abused, or injured in some other way. This is also a place for wild animals that have been domesticated by a private citizen, but since it is illegal to keep them as pets, the zoo takes them and gives them a setting more like their natural habitat. Since they have not lived in the wild, they may not be able to adapt and survive. The sanctuary gives them a second chance at life. This is a very small zoo, and the animals are kept very far away from humans so they are not disturbed.

Jelly Belly

I stopped in at the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. If you like jelly beans, and are in the area, you should stop in. They have a tour where you can see how their candy is made and they have a lot of free samples of their famous beans. Plus a gift shop where you can buy lots of candy.
