In the summer, there are many LGBT pride festivals around the country. I like to show my support when I can.

Putt Putt!

I wanted to start the summer by enjoying an outdoor activity. I decided on a miniature golf course with an arcade.

The place I went to had some disrespectful and poorly trained employees. I observed some discrimination, unfortunately.

I wasn't going to let the lousy customer service ruin my day. I played a round of golf and had fun looking at all the bear-sized buildings.

After I played golf, I looked around at the games in the arcade. I won a few tickets and when I wanted to turn them in for a prize, I was told that they didn't have the key to access the prize I wanted. All around it was a bad experience, but would have been more fun to just wander the course. I will not be giving them my support in the future.

Maleficent

I went to see Maleficent and I loved it! It is a great fantasy movie that has the classic elements like fairies, dragons, castles, knights, and magic.

This movie focuses on Maleficent's back story. It's not Aurora's story; that was in Sleeping Beauty. In this one, we learn more about who Maleficent is, and what made her become the evil sorceress.

Remember that this is a new interpretation of Maleficent's story. Just because a person may love Disney's 1959 animated version, it doesn't mean they can't love this one as well. Keep in mind that even that version did not follow the source material. Keep an open mind and enjoy it for great storytelling, a beautiful setting, and fantastic acting.
