Yes, Califia, There Is A Santa Claus

I woke up Christmas morning to a stack of presents. I was thrilled!

I wanted to sleep in, but I was too anxious.

I love these new snazzy outfits. Now I just need a place to wear them.

I must have been a good bear this year! 2009 will be beary fashionable for me.

Disneyland Hotel

I thought this was a nut cracker, not a bear cracker!

This is one of the trees on the hotel property.

This is not a comfortable place to rest your legs but it's a great photo opportunity.

I wonder how easy it is to shape a topiary. I would love a Mickey or other character in my yard. Time to get out the yard shears...

"Fish are friends, not food." There is a nice koi pond at the back of the hotel.

I have seen a number of waterfalls but these are by far the most impressive.

This whole area is beautiful with the waterfalls and the landscaping.

You don't scare me.

Exploring the hotel is just as fun as exploring the Park. I can't wait for my next Disneyland vacation!

Happy Place, Part 2

This is a weekend for firsts. Today I took my first ride in the Nemo Submarine Voyage. It's cute, but I hear it's nothing like the classic ride. It's still neat to go on an underwater ride.

I was hoping to see more sea creatures but I guess they were being shy today.

One of my favorite things about going to Disneyland in December is seeing it's a small world all decorated for Christmas. The Peace on Earth segment brings tears to my eyes.

Other than the Christmas, it's a small world has a new look. You'll have to see yourself.

"Holy peppermint, Batman!" Have you ever seen a candy cane so giant? That would ease my sore throat for sure.

I love the bold, bright colors of the ornaments on the ToonTown tree.

I found this chair in a store in Frontierland. It is the perfect size for me! Unfortunately, it's a prop and not for sale.

If I weren't in Disneyland, why would I be wearin' this hat?

One thing that surprised me was that Sleeping Beauty's Castle was open for guests to walk through. My goodnes!!! I was so excited, it was such fun to read Sleeping Beauty's story and look at the dioramas. How exciting to be inside her castle!

You really can have a happily ever after in Disneyland.

I found this suit of armor in the Heraldry Shoppe. Aragorn was not in it to my disappointment.

"The time! The time! Who's got the time?"

I got to ride in a new Monorail car. The seats have changed. I don't know what else is different, maybe the cars aren't as shaky.

I'm riding the Monorail to the Disneyland Hotel.

Back At My Happy Place

I'm back in Disneyland for the weekend. One of my best friends got engaged and I'm here for her surprise engagement party.

Today was my first ride on Thunder Mountain. It sure is a wild ride, but a lot of fun, too.

I think I have taken a picture next to these Tiki masks every time I have been to Disneyland.

This was also my first ride on Indiana Jones. Now this one certainly made my fur stand on end! A basilisk, bugs, fire... and no Mutt.

Do you know where this is? I don't... ha! I don't remember where in Disneyland it is, but I'm pretty sure it's in Adventureland.

I love sweet treats. If it's shaped like Mickey, and is vegetarian, I will try it.

When I am craving a sweet treat, the candy store on Main Street surely works.

Tinker Bell is the popular character right now with the new Fairies movie. This is in the Emporium, above a display of Fairies dolls.

Just monkeying around.

I'm neither rare or exotic, so I'm safe.

Happy Thanksgiving

There is a lot to be thankful for this year. I am in reasonable health, I have my friends and family close by, and the future of this country - and the world - is looking bright.

My dinner was mostly vegan this year. The main attraction was a Tofurky roast. The gravy is so good! I also enjoyed mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, green bean casserole, bread, and the favorite cranberry jelly in its can shape. It was all very good and I have lots of leftovers for the weekend!

What team? WILDCATS!

As a fan of the first two High School Musical movies I went to see HSM 3: Senior Year. I really enjoyed it. The music was great and the story was impressive.

As always, I love dressing the part. Imagine my excitement when I found High School Musical items at Build-A-Bear! I'm hoping they will also have Jonas Brothers items soon. That would rock!

Ah, the salty popcorn that tastes great with a Diet Coke. Another favorite part of watching movies in a theatre. I have Twilight coming up next week, so more popcorn!

Happy Halloween

I saw this pink rock star costume and just had to have it. I love the wig. When can I wear it again?

I hope by showing some fur, I'll get some extra candy.

Here come the holidays

What do people consider the "holidays?" Thanksgiving and Christmas? Halloween to New Year's Day? I'll go with the latter. I enjoy decorating for many holidays and I participate in the tradition of decorating with pumpkins on Halloween. I like to roast the seeds and then I compost the rest of the gourd.

One of the things I love most about holidays... the candy!

Hibernating Early

The rain has started and what a better way to spend a stormy afternoon than sitting in a comfy chair with a good book. Reading is one of the most important parts of my day. I read fiction every day and occasionally throw in some nonfiction. I do enjoy just about every genre. Romance, fantasy, mystery, adventure, teen, and much more.

I say any weather is perfect for reading. When there is a scorching heatwave, stretch out inside with a glass of iced tea and put on the air conditioning. In the spring when it warms up, put a blanket outside and bask in the longer days and smell the perfumes radiating from the blossoming flowers. In the fall sit on the front porch with a blanket and a warm espresso drink. And in the winter, cuddle in cozy pajamas, grab a blanket and read til the reindeer come home.

My mystery shelf has been growing rapidly over the last few weeks. It's all because of Harry Potter. "Bear" with me. It is because of Harry Potter that I read Twilight what with Robert Pattinson playing Edward in the movie. The vampire series was so great I read Dead After Dark by Charlaine Harris, which lead to her Aurora Teagarden mystery series. It all comes back to Harry Potter. What is so fun about the mysteries I have been reading is all of my hobbies are represented in different series. There is a scrapbooking series by Laura Childs, a coffee series by Cleo Coyle, a bookstore series by Alice Kimberly, and a teddy bear series by John J Lamb. There are others as well such as holidays, food, candy, and rubber stamping. I better step away from the computer, I have a lot to read.
