The Garden by the Sea

Today's biggest plan was to visit the Mendocino Botanical Gardens.

Mr Duffy and I both love all types of nature, so visiting places like this make us happy.

We found this neat bench carved out of a tree trunk. There are benches all through the park for those who may want to sit and read, take a break, or perhaps set up a canvas with paints to create what they see.

We love our trees.

This one looked just like a Christmas tree. I would love to decorate it!

There was a section with dwarf trees. They were very cute.

Mr Duffy looks like a lumberjack here.

We are bigger than the trees!

There was a little bridge crossing over a stream, but it was dry.

Such a beautiful green!

Ah, the lovely flowers.

These flowers don't look as pink in the photos as they do in person. They are so vibrant and beautiful.

If I had a garden like this, I would love playing hide-and-seek.

Just when you think you have seen the whole garden, it goes on and on. So much to see!

Pretty purple.

I wonder how much work it takes to maintain all of these plants, or if the moisture in the air feeds them, or if they get enough rain and they grow naturally. But there are a lot of gardeners there trimming and pruning, so they take a lot of care otherwise.

Near the entrance of the garden is this big, open space. You can have a picnic there. Just clean up after yourself!

They also have a nursery where they sell many clippings and succulents.
