Hollywood Forever

In Los Angeles is Hollywood Forever, the cemetery to the stars. I wanted to visit so I could see where some of the early stars of the screen have their final resting place.

Not everyone buried here was involved in Hollywood. Some of the plots are as simple as a grave marker, and others are gigantic mausoleums with furniture and other decor.

One of the most famous residents is Judy Garland.

This was one of the displays inside of the mausoleum.

There are some peaceful water features tuckeed away throughout the grounds for quiet reflection.

The main part of the cemetery is predominately Jewish. The majority of the graves have the Star of David on them.

This bouquet was left on a bench near a grave. They are oddly cheerful against a somber background.

There were baby peacocks in a cage, and adult ones were free to roam the grounds.

This statue pays tribute to Johnny Ramone of the punk rock group The Ramones.

Hattie McDaniel isn't actually interred here, but she does have a memorial in the park.

Anton Yelchin is in a nice area, overlooking a pond that has ducks, swans, and turtles.

Fans have left him little trinkets.

This bench was at the water's edge for anyone who wants to reflect, pray, or just take in the emotions they may be feeling.

While this is one of the big area attractions, it is still a place where people should be mindful of what this place means. Please follow any and all rules, and be respectful of the people there, both living and not.
