Visiting the Schulz Museum

Today I was visiting the Charles Schulz Museum.

Before entering the museum itself, I had an early lunch at the Warm Puppy Cafe on the campus. This is part of the Redwood Ice Rink, so people can watch skaters or hockey games as they eat or have a warm beverage. I had a veggie burger.

I finished lunch and walked across to the museum.

The Peanuts character statues are part of a collection that can be found all over Santa Rosa.

You can spend many hours just reading all of the information in the gallery.

There was a fun photo booth.

This is a recreation of Schulz's office.

This is what his desk looked like.

Just outside of the model office, there was a couch and some poofy ottoman chairs where you could draw your own comics. They had two sketchbooks, one for adults and one for kids.

I was VERY amused by one particular entry.

"Poo Brown"

This is in the upstairs gallery. It has artwork found in the Little Golden Books.

These are Peanuts books published in many different languages.

There is an art room where people can go in to draw, color, look at instructional books, and assemble small paper sculptures. There are crayons and markers on all of the tables.

There is a courtyard in the back with more statues.

This is the kite eating tree.

This one is fun because you can actually solve the crossword.

Snoopy is holding a giant penny at the souvenir coin machine.

This statue of Charlie Brown was my favorite, he represented the museum itself.

The labyrinth at the entrance is shaped like Snoopy. You can sit on his stone nose!

After the main part of the tour, I went back across the street to visit the gift shop and memorabilia museum.
