After a breakfast of huevos rancheros, I left Pasadena and drove to Ventura. I stayed at the La Quinta, and was disappointed in the quality of the hotel. This national chain has a reputation of being a nicer hotel, clean, and safe. None of those applied to this location.
The room did have a microwave, refrigerator, desk, and TV. Standard stuff. But the room was dingy and there were spiders. The room was also hidden behind the staircase and next to trash bins. The walls were very thin and I could hear everyone in the next room.
The bed was fine, I could have used one more blanket. They definitely need to do upgrades.
