Schulz Museum

 Today I got to visit the Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. It is a small museum but it is on a big campus. They have a Peanuts store and an ice rink in addition to the main museum.

 I looked around the main floor only for a bit before feeling hungry. I went across the street to the ice rink because they have some yummy food in there, and a popular hot cocoa drink.

Today they were having some hockey championship games. The restaurant is attached so you can see the skaters as they play.

 I had a fruit cup, a veggie cup, and a soda. Good stuff!

They serve it in a "dog bowl" which is a very cute detail.

 The fruit salad had the usual watermelon, grapes, and pineapple chunks.

 This Snoopy topiary is outside Snoopy's Ice Rink.

 After lunch, I went back to the museum and went to the outdoor area. They have this really cool statue of Charlie Brown that is "under construction".

 Santa Rosa, and Sonoma County where it is, are known for all of their redwood trees. The whole of the pacific northwest has many redwood forests. It is one of my favorite types of tree.

 This is one gigantic baseball cap!

 I thought this was really neat. It is a crossword puzzle. Linus (below) has a blank crossword, and they have the clues so you can play. Clever!

 This is the famous "kite in a tree". The tail is so long!

 Like I had mentioned, this is a small museum and it doesn't take a lot of time to go through. You could spend the whole day here if you read every comic strip that is displayed, and looked through all of the books they have out. Or you can just look at the artwork and memorabilia and breeze through. It is definitely a place to visit if you are a Peanuts fan.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day from this love bug. I hope you have a day full of chocolate, flowers, hugs, kisses, and teddy bears!

Gone for a Drive

I had the chance to ride in this car that is a convertible. I had never been in a car like that before, so I wanted to take advantage and cruise up the coast.

There is a song from California Adventure called 'On The Edge' which is about life in California. It opens with the line, "When the winter gets hot, our convertible top goes down." Well this was exactly my experience - as it is deep into winter and warm enough to drive to the beach.

I buckled up and was on my way.

I stopped at Surf City Coffee to get a Cowabunga which is a blended mocha and heath crunch drink. Yummy!

I got back in the car and rode up to Rockaway Beach in Pacifica. There were surfers in the water, and some people were jogging or walking their dogs.

It was a bit overcast but a comfortable temperature. I always enjoy hanging out at the beach. I love the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves. I am ready for a full beach day!
