Roses Are Red

At the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden, roses come in many colors.

But red really is the most common rose color in this garden.

The grounds here are well kept and would make a beautiful backdrop for a wedding, picnic, or any other outdoor occasion.

A water fountain makes a nice centerpiece.

Benches are set up around the fountain. Anyone wanting a peaceful spot for reading or lunch can sit in the perfumed area.

If the scent of roses is overwhelming, there are places to sit away from the blossoming flowers.

When I see white roses I think of the "paining the roses red" scene from Alice in Wonderland.

The garden occupies a city block at Dana and Naglee in San Jose. Nearby are the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and the Winchester Mystery House.

As spring progresses, the sighs and smells will be even more beautiful.
