Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday” and is the final feasting day before the Christian season of
Lent, which begins on the day after Mardi Gras,
Ash Wednesday.
The biggest celebration takes place in New Orleans. They have a giant festival and parade. The distribute necklaces, and the color scheme is gold, green, and purple.
Some people wear giant feather boas and elaborate masks. I love big parties, but that one might be too big for me.
