January 3rd is National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day. I like the cordial cherries, which have a sort of cherry sauce with a maraschino cherry, and covered in a chocolate shell. These Queen Anne ones are found in many stores at Christmas and Valentine's seasons.
They are delicious. I also like the pastel chocolate cherries, which I pick up when I stop at Casa de Fruta, the roadside attraction on Highway 152. Those ones are a bit chewier, they have a more solid dried cherry, and they are covered in pastel chocolate. Those ones are very tasty, too.
I do like cherries, they are one of my favorite fruits. And I like many things when they are covered in chocolate.
